2013

2012 was a memorable year: the world (thankfully) didn’t end, Blake Lively got married (surprise!) and most importantly, we have something to look forward to in the next nine months: Baby Kimye. As always, celebrities continued to amaze us with their (usually) tasteful fashion sense.
Emma Stone has quickly become one of Hollywood’s most adored stars. Her down to earth, totally laid-back style makes her the girl everyone wants as a bestie. Whether dazzling on the red carpet or casual daywear, she consistently dresses for the event.
At the Paris premier of The Amazing Spider-Man in late June, Emma amazed us with her goth glam style. Her black lace Gucci dress was loved and hated by the critics. I think this look was perfect for Emma; it shows her ability to flawlessly pull off a range of styles, on and off the screen.
In July, Emma made her Vogue debut cover. Need I say more?
Emma’s casual look is perfect for anyone, which is exactly why she is so adored. It’s relatable – a look that can easily be replicated, and shows her casual cool personality.
Blake Lively. You know I had to.
Where else to start but Blake’s wedding pictures. We waited months to see a glimpse of what the wedding looked like. The result: still classy, private, Blake.
Blake’s performance in Savages was a far cry from her role in Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants. So was her style. Here she is in Zuhair Murad. As I said: a far cry.
In March, Blake captured our attention on the cover of Elle magazine (dress: Victoria Beckham). She discussed her personal ties to Christian Louboutin, her personal relationships and her future children. Could it get any better?
Kristen Stewart. I will admit, I was hesitant to include the pouty starlet. However, lover her or hate her, her style receives constant attention. And let's discuss only her style, please.
It’s no secret that K. Stew likes to push the envelope. Case in point: On the Road. Her Balenciaga shirt and casual black pants, however shows she can tastefully display her personal style.
Another look from Zuhair Murad, another controversy for Kristen, another black lace look I love. Do you see a pattern?
Kristen Stewart may possibly be photographed more off the red carpet than on it. Actually, she may be photographed more in general than any other human being. These facts aside, it is difficult to find a time when the top starlet is 1. smiling and 2. not wearing black. Although there is still black, and a lot of it, a burst of yellow and a smile is definitely a look that should be noted.
What looks are you most excited to see in 2013? Personally, I can't wait to see what baby Kimye will make his/her debut into pop culture wearing (onesie? Highly doubtful.), Snooki's wedding dress (semi kidding), and just how long it takes until people no longer care that Rihanna and Chris Brown are literally in bed together (they know we know, we know, who cares).
Always,
Jacci
